Valdai Club to take part in think tank summit at Astana Economic Forum

On May 26, from 9 AM to 12:15 PM local time, Chairman of the Board of the Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai Discussion Club Andrei Bystritskiy will moderate a panel discussion of the Regional Think Tank Summit as part of the Astana Economic Forum.

Analytical assessments made by think tanks are influential when it comes to government policy. The panel will discuss the role of think tanks in the age of New Economic and Geopolitical Reality, which will involve analysts from regional and international think tanks, who will discuss various issues.

Chief Questions:

  • What strategies decision makers of the region can use to overcome the challenge of low commodity prices and weak growth in trading partners?

  • What is the appropriate policy response for the regional decision makers to navigate in the geopolitical standoff between the West and Russia?

  • Lessons learned and success stories from advising the decision makers over the past decade. Can we develop common solutions for the regional problems?
