Expert Discussion Featuring OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger
Valdai Discussion Club Conference Hall, Bolshaya Tatarskaya 42, Moscow, Russia

On November 2, at 15:30, the Valdai Club conference hall will host an expert discussion on the future of the European order featuring Thomas Greminger, OSCE Secretary General.

The 1975 Helsinki Final Act was an important milestone in the European history and the first serious step toward the end of the Cold War. The peaceful end of the East-West confrontation was supposed to emphasize the Helsinki principles’ inviolability, but today they are being increasingly challenged by a number of factors.

Whatever destiny awaits Russia, the EU or individual European states, the world that is taking shape before our eyes is becoming qualitatively different.

How does the OSCE see its role today? Is it up to the current challenges? What are its priorities and how can the OSCE be instrumental in solving conflict situations where Russia’s interests are at stake?

These and other issues will be addressed at the meeting with Thomas Greminger, OSCE Secretary General.
