The final session of the conference, titled “China and Russia: Facing Challenges of Global Shifts,” held on April 4-5 by the Valdai Discussion Club in cooperation with the Center for Russian Studies at the East China Normal University, was dedicated to economic cooperation as essential constituent of comprehensive Sino-Russian partnership.

The fifth session of the Russian-Chinese conference, titled "Energy market dynamics: conclusions for Russia and China", was devoted to the problems of energy cooperation between Russia and China.

The situation in Central Asia and areas of cooperation between Russia and China in that region were main topics of discussion at the 4th session, titled "The situational dynamics in the “shared neighborhood” countries around Russia and China."

Is it possible to overcome jointly the challenges to cybersecurity? This question was answered during the third session of the conference, titled  "China and Russia: Facing Challenges of Global Shifts", which is being held on April 4-5 by the Valdai Discussion Club in cooperation with the Center for Russian Studies at the East China Normal University.

During the second session of the Russian-Chinese conference the participants discussed the potential of tripartite relations between Russia, China and the United States. Given the important role that each country plays in the modern world order, the topic is extremely relevant for maintaining stability and further positive development of international cooperation in general.

April 4 marked the beginning of a two-day conference titled “China and Russia: Facing Challenges of Global Shifts,” held in Moscow by the Valdai Discussion Club in cooperation with the Center for Russian Studies at the East China Normal University. Participants of the first session discussed the opportunities that the transformation of the global political and economic order have created for Russia and China.

On April 4-5, 2017, the Valdai Discussion Club in cooperation with the Center for Russian Studies at the East China Normal University, will hold a joint Russian-Chinese conference, titled “China and Russia: Facing Challenges of Global Shifts”. About 50 Russian and Chinese scientists, experts, politicians and diplomats who deal with bilateral relations and global problems of international politics, will take part in the event.
