Danila Bochkarev

Danila Bochkarev is a Nonresident Fellow at the Henry L. Stimson Center affiliated with the Middle East and Africa Program where he covers energy and natural resources issues. He also serves as an Associate Researcher at the Institute of Political Science Louvain-Europe (UCLouvain, Belgium) where he works on the EU and FSU energy policies. Before starting his current position, Danila spent 14 years in the EastWest Institute (EWI) where he worked on the US-Russia relations and covered energy developments in the EU, FSU and Southeast Asia. Danila Bochkarev was an Inbev scholar for EU-Russia relations at the Louvain-la Neuve and Leuven universities in Belgium. He had previously worked on China and Central Asia affairs at the European Parliament and the Energy Charter Secretariat and advises energy companies and international institutions. Danila has several post-graduate qualifications in economics international relations, including a PhD. He is the author of a number of academic and policy publications, and regularly contributes to policy debates on the energy issues.
