Kayhan Barzegar Ph.D. is Professor and Chair of the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the Science and Research Branch of the Islamic Azad University in Tehran. He is also a Senior Academic Advisor to the IPIS. Dr. Barzegar was a Research Fellow at Harvard University during 2007- 2011, and a Postgraduate Research Fellow at the London School of Economics (LSE) during 2002-2003. His works on Iran’s foreign and regional policy, Iran-US relations, and Iranian nuclear program have been published widely, including in Foreign Affairs, the Washington Quarterly, Middle East Policy, World Policy Journal, and numerous academic journals. He is also a columnist in Persian and English language outlets. His latest publications include, “A World for All” (Russia in Global Affairs, September 2023), “Hybrid Deterrence in the Middle East” (Book Chapter Springer Nature, August 2023), “Towards an Asian Geopolitical Alliance (Montaigne Institute, October 2022), “Iran’s Understanding of Strategic Stability in the Region” (in: Geopolitics of Iran, 2021). His latest book is entitled, Iran Regional Policy in Time (August 2019).
