The 15th Asian Conference of the Valdai Discussion Club in partnership with Bait Al Amanah, Sasakawa Peace Foundation, Institute of Strategic Analysis and Policy Research opened on December 9 in Kuala Lumpur. The goal of the first session is to discuss the potential for dialogue between BRICS and Southeast Asian states, the likely practical results and areas of interaction in the global economy and politics.
Fundamental changes of a global nature require new forms of cooperation and dialogue between states. The BRICS group was created as a format for interaction between the most dynamically growing large economies, but gradually transformed into an association of states based on a common or similar vision of the nature of the core international processes, problems and development challenges.
