Ould Mohamedou: External Players Can't Solve Middle East Problems
06.04.2016
Mohamed-Mahmoud Ould Mohamedou, Deputy Director and Academic Dean at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, and Ivan Timofeev, Programme Director of the Valdai Club Foundation, discuss the prospects for the creation of the security system in the Middle East. The professor’s key idea is that such a system can be built only by "internal actors" which are the states of the region. External players, with all their possible constructive role, can not solve this problem. The region and its security destiny is in the hands of the region itself, that, of course, does not disable the very close cooperation with key international organisations.
