On February 9 the Valdai Club hosted an expert discussion, titled “The Baltic Region: What Will the Unprecedented Militarisation Lead to?” Alexander Grushko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation; Igor Istomin, Acting Head of the Department of Applied Analysis of International Problems (PAMP); Leading Research Fellow, Center for Advanced American Studies, MGIMO, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia; Konstantin Khudolei, Head of the Department of European Studies at the Faculty of International Relations at St. Petersburg State University; Gregory Simons, independent expert (Sweden), participated. The event was moderated by Timofei Bordachev, Programme Director of the Valdai Discussion Club.
