On April 21, the Valdai Club hosted an expert discussion titled “Shipping Blockade in the Strait of Hormuz: Consequences and Future Scenarios.” Despite enormous military pressure, the US was unable to achieve complete control of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran announced new rules for ship passage, implying fee-based and permit-based transit. New conditions for the use of the strait are emerging, which could become reality in other geographic locations in the future.
