Signing of Cooperation Agreement between the Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai Discussion Club and the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia

On April 18, 2017, the Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai Discussion Club and the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia signed the cooperation agreement. In particular, the parties plan to promote an effective dialogue between the scholar and expert communities, as well as public organizations of Russia and Indonesia. They expressed mutual desire for the formation of a global agenda and an objective assessment of world political and economic problems.

Based on the long tradition of friendship, cooperation and sympathy between the peoples of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Indonesia, the parties expressed their mutual desire to promote the consolidation, development and strengthening of ties between the intellectual elites of the two countries, to work out joint solutions aimed at normalizing relations between states and societies.

To facilitate cooperation and strengthen scholar and socio-cultural ties, the parties plan to hold various joint events: meetings of experts, forums, conferences, exchange of visits of representatives of the intellectual elite, expert communities and non-profit organizations, and so on.

The agreement was signed by Andrey Bystritskiy, Chairman of the Board of the Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai Discussion Club, and Dino Jalal, Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia.

After the signing ceremony, an expert discussion took place between Dino Jalal and Russian experts. A wide range of issues of cooperation both on a bilateral basis and within the international organizations and associations was discussed.
