Kadri Liik on the EU’s Future After Brexit

Kadri Liik, Senior Policy Fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations, talks about the future of the European Union following the Brexit referendum. According to Liik, the crisis that the EU is currently in, is in itself a transition from one concept of the union to another.

Liik noted that the collapse of the EU is not a possible outcome and that UK referendum led people to reconsider the importance of the EU and that future generations in the UK will likely regret its results. She also noted that the EU is by itself an important organ for Europe’s participation in NATO, as it allows the bloc’s European members to communicate regularly outside the main council body.
