“Changing is the only thing that never gets changed, so modern nations have to accept these changes and realise their interdependency”, Nelson Wong, Vice Chairman, Shanghai Centre for RimPac Strategic and International Studies, asserts. It is due to this interconnectivity that exists in the world that China does not suffer much from the trade war with the United States: “China’s development is not dependent on America alone; it has a whole world to look at. The ongoing trade war does have effect on economy, but is not that serious that China stops developing”, he says.
