Dr. Ivan Timofeev, Programme Director, Valdai Club Foundation, and Amos Yadlin, Executive Director, Institute for National Security Studies (Israel) have discussed prospects of settlement of the Syrian conflict. According to Major General Yadlin the absence of a clear division between Russia's actions and the coalition led by the United States influence on the situation. Heterogeneity of the Syrian opposition makes the main problem. Not all the warring forces are the part of the ceasefire agreement. Mechanism of further settlement in Syria is of a big question. Plan "A" implying the preservation of the unity of Syria, doesn’t seem to be implemented. Plan "B", implying the federalisation, is not so simple for implementation. Ultimately, it should be the choice of the Syrian people who will determine the future structure of the country.
