During the Valdai Discussion Club and the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Middle East Conference, a presentation ceremony of the Lebanese State Award – the National Order of the Cedar was held. Amal Abou Zeid, Advisor to the President of Lebanon, presented the orders to Vitaly Naumkin, Full Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, President of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Vladimir Sautov, Chief Researcher of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Andrey Bystritskiy, Chairman of the Board of the Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai Discussion Club made an opening speech at the ceremony.
