On May 20, at 9:00 AM local time, as part of the Kazakhstan-Russia Expert Forum, a discussion titled “Pivotal Trends of Regional Development in Eurasia in Relation to the Kazakhstan-Russia-China Triangle” will be conducted, open to the media.
Kazakhstan and Russia hold a central geographic and military-strategic location in Eurasia and cooperate in international and regional security and development institutions. The position of these two countries often determines the dynamics of Eurasian integration and its engagement with the primary external partners, China and the European Union. The high level of political trust between the two countries’ leaders is an important factor of regional stability and cooperation.
The importance of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia on global and regional forums is growing. Currently, the two countries must determine the priorities of further development in Eurasian integration as an instrument for strengthening the sovereignty of participating countries. Experts of the two countries must conduct an important share of the intellectual work for this to happen. The countries must understand whether they will respond to the challenges of global economics and politics together or independently.
The expert forum is organized by the Valdai Discussion Club, the Parasat Institute of Systemic Studies and the Kazakhstan Council for International Affairs.
