On October 14, at 3:30 pm, the Valdai Discussion Club will meet with Sylvie-Agnès Bermann, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Russian Federation.
After the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to France in August this year, as well as the 2+2 format negotiations in Moscow between the countries’ ministers of foreign affairs and defence, many analysts began to talk about a “new stage in relations” between Moscow and Paris.
What is the reason for this increase in bilateral relations between France and Russia? Can the current situation be called a “new stage” in the development of Russian-French relations? What areas are most promising in terms of deepening bilateral ties? Participants of the meeting will address these and other issues.
