The international community has long been working to create an effective system of agreements that would suit the requirements of all members of the international community, but it is at the time of crisis that these discussions are especially important, say the authors of a report, published ahead of the 11th annual meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club in Sochi. 

The report «Global problems for global governance» is prepared as a part of Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai Discussion Club research grant program. It is aimed to describe the main challenges faced by the modern system of global governance. The paper also provides solution for some of the existing problems.

The paper is focused on the most prominent events in international arena of the past few years which illustrate the developments in the modern international relations system and demonstrate its weak points.

The report is authored by Alexander Konkov, PhD in Political Science. Head of the International Peer Review at the Analytical Center for the Government of the Russian Federation, member of the Peer Сouncil at the Institute for Socio-Economic and Political Research, visiting lecturer at the Moscow State University and at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, member of the board at the Russian Political Science Association and Hovhannes Nikoghosyan PhD in Political Science, visiting lecturer at the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University (Yerevan), research fellow at the Information and Public Relations Centre under the Administration of the President of Armenia (2010-2012), visiting scholar at Sanford School of Public Policy, Duke University (2012-2013).

The authors of the report are the winners of the first research grant program for Russian and foreign scholars and experts in economics, political science and international relations, launched by Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai Discussion Club in 2012.
