Valdai Club

On October 3, 2016, the Valdai Discussion Club will present a Valdai Paper titled"The EU's Crises and its Future".

A lot of crises have been matured inside the EU, and many of them are considered as potential causes of the European integration collapse. The Valdai Paper examines five main challenges to the EU development. These are crises of internal political leadership and solidarity, stability of a single currency and economic growth, normative leadership, migration and the terrorist threat, and finally, legitimacy. What will be their further development and influence on the European integration? What is the role of the Russian factor in each of these crises? Will EU cease to exist? Should we expect an improvement of cooperation with Russia? These and other related issues the experts will discuss during the presentation.

Mark Entin, Professor of International Law and European Law at European Studies Institute at MGIMO University, Visiting Professor of the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University, Vice President of the Association of European Studies and the Russian Association of International Law, Russian Ambassador to Luxembourg (2012-2016);

Bojan Krstulovic, editor-in-chief of Moskauer Deutsche Zeitung newspaper.
