Poland-Russia relations: still strained

While there is obviously no Russo-Polish war (the last one in 1920 was won by the Poles) the fact that Poland’s largest opposition party feels free to accuse the leaders of Russia of an attack on their country underlines that Poland’s relationship with Russia is still far from what it has achieved with Germany, its other historical foe.
The trading relationship is still dominated by imports of Russian oil and gas. Last year, Poland exported $1.4bn worth of goods to Russia and imported $6.3bn.
