On February 19-20, 2018, the Valdai Discussion Club in partnership with the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences held a conference, titled “Russia in the Middle East: Playing on All Fields.” The conference took place in the format of an expert dialogue with the participation of well-known politicians, diplomats, experts and public figures from more than 30 countries.

The participants discussed the following issues:
Why are existing conflict resolution mechanisms not working in Yemen?
How can outside actors help advance the resolution of the conflict and what leverage do they have to influence the opposing sides?
What can be done to improve humanitarian cooperation in Yemen?
