On February 19-20, 2018, the Valdai Discussion Club in partnership with the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences held a conference, titled “Russia in the Middle East: Playing on All Fields.” The conference took place in the format of an expert dialogue with the participation of well-known politicians, diplomats, experts and public figures from more than 30 countries.

The participants will discuss the following issues:
What are the limits of the Kurds’ potential autonomy in Turkey, Iraq and Syria?
How closely are the Kurdish national movements connected in these countries? Is it possible to create a common front?
Can the international community come to a consolidated position on the Kurdish issue?
