Abhijit Singh, the Head of the Maritime Policy Initiative, Observer Research Foundation, asserts that although the Indian concept of Indo-Pacific partly contradicts Russia’s ideal of Greater Eurasia, the two sides could do a lot to do in the region. Thus, they have to counter the challenges like piracy, terrorism, illegal trafficking etc., and to provide security to the maritime region. “We have to get Russia into the mainstream of the maritime security in the Indo-Pacific region”, he says.
