On April 9, 2018, Tehran hosted for the first time the Russian-Iranian dialogue, organized by the Valdai Discussion Club in partnership with the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS). The experts discussed the most acute issues of politics and security in the region and beyond. In particular, at the fourth session of the Russian-Iranian dialogue the experts talked about trade and economic relations between Iran and Russia, cooperation in the energy market, regional transport projects. At the final special session, titled "Discussing on Iran and Russia on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)", the main speaker was H.E. Dr. Abbas Aragchi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs.
