Political confusion in the world gives rise to new geopolitical trends: the center of gravity of world politics is shifting towards Asia. Russia, which maintains friendly relations with all regional players, successfully participates in this evolution of the world order, while interest toward Russia is growing in Asia.
This is confirmed not only by the past week’s events (East Asia summit, Russia-ASEAN meeting, APEC summit), where Russia took an active part, but also by the Asian Regional Conference of the Valdai Discussion Club, which takes place these days in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This year (and this is the ninth such conference), the event is attended by experts from ten Asian countries: Japan, China, Republic of Korea, India, Pakistan, Myanmar, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Cambodia.
