On September 18 in Moscow, the Valdai Discussion Club and the China Public Diplomacy Association held a joint conference, titled "Belt and Road Initiative: A New Pillar in Russia-China Partnership." During the first session, Chinese and Russian experts discussed propects of bilateral economic cooperation within the framework of the Chinese initiative. The second session was devoted to the role of information and mass media in the modern world. Participants examined general issues regarding the cooperation of Russia and China in conducting a joint information policy and strategy to counter the so-called "fake news."
