Talent and Intellect: Export Commodities, Instrument of Influence or a Strategic Resource that Must be Kept at all Costs. Expert discussion of the Valdai Discussion Club and RVC
Tomsk, Russia

On May 18, 2017, Tomsk will host an expert discussion of the Valdai Discussion Club and RVC, titled "Talent and Intellect: Export Commodity, Instrument of Influence or a Strategic Resource that Must be Kept at all Costs". The event will be held within the framework of the Club-2035 project.

Globalization is a multifaceted phenomenon, its advantages and risks are interrelated. Global intellectual space is a way of enriching each country, an opportunity to be connected to advanced achievements and their results. But at the same time this is a magnet that draws national intellectual resources and promotes their concentration in a small number of world centers. How to preserve the Russian scientific and technological potential in the coming decades, but at the same time to avoid the isolation from the creative processes? How will the structure of global knowledge change in the middle of the century?

Fyodor Lukyanov, Research Director of the Valdai Discussion Club, editor-in-chief of Russia in Global Affairs journal.
