On July 1, at 15:00, the Valdai Discussion Club will host a discussion featuring Sergei Ryabkov, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation. It will be dedicated to the US-Russian relations, considering the results of the meeting between the presidents of Russia and the United States on the margins of the G20 summit in Osaka, as well as the other issues overseen by the Deputy Foreign Minister.
According to the White House’s official information, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump are to discuss the situation in Iran, Ukraine, and Syria, the general state of affairs in the Middle East, arms control and the improvement of bilateral relations. In turn, Yury Ushakov, Aide to the Russian President, said that a lot would depend on the leaders themselves and how they will build the conversation. It is planned to discuss a number issues of strategic stability and regional conflicts, including those in the Korean Peninsula, Afghanistan and Venezuela.
