On January 18, 2017, the Valdai Discussion Club will hold an expert discussion titled "Donald Trump: Professional profile of the new president of the United States" and a presentation of the new report on the issue.

An unexpected outcome of the presidential elections in the United States means that the political life  there will continue to be uncertain. Taking into account the special position of the United States in the world, this uncertainty will spill over global processes and complicate an already complex situation in the world arena.

An analysis of the professional and psychological profile of the key figure in the new administration - President Donald Trump  - should help reduce the uncertainty surrounding the US foreign policy. Valdai Club experts will assess the professional competence of Donald Trump, his organizational skills, political vision, style of thinking, political abilities and emotional maturity.

In the Valdai Club report the authors analyze the future of Donald Trump's foreign policy, based on his election proposals, composition of his advisers and the presidential team. The report also analyzes the domestic policy of the new US President and identifies the political limitations facing him. The authors formulate conclusions, which Russia should take after the electoral campaign in the United States and describe the likely scenarios of the development of bilateral relations after the inauguration of Donald Trump.
