On March 26, at 15.30, the Valdai Discussion Club will host an expert discussion titled “An Era of Digital Threats: What Should We Prepare For?”
Today, digital technologies are developing rapidly, and that sharply increases the threats in the information security sphere. The digital environment becomes a field of rivalry between the great powers. Risks are increasing for crucial infrastructure and financial institutions. The digital threats could affect even the ordinary people, who use social networks or the smartphone. Digitalization provides unprecedented opportunities, but it also significantly changes the concept of freedom and the right to privacy.
Is it possible to keep the risks of the digital environment in control? Can the state cope with this task on its own? How t the interaction of state institutions with private companies could be built? Why international cooperation in countering new challenges lags behind with their emergence?
