Ziyavudin Magomedov joins the Valdai Club Foundation’s Board of Trustees
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Summa Group Ziyavudin Magomedov has joined the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai Discussion Club.
The Valdai Club and the Summa Group will primarily cooperate on developing transport infrastructure and promoting food security.
Valdai Club Chairman Sergei Karaganov said: “The Summa Group is one of Russia’s most dynamically developing holdings with a truly global vision, which is extremely valuable in this rapidly changing world. The company has repeatedly initiated discussions at the international level on issues related to its business. I’m confident that Mr. Magomedov’s participation in the Club’s work will allows us to raise the discussion of these vital national issues to an entirely new level.”
Magomedov is also a member of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) and the Presidential Council for Economic Modernisation and Innovative Development.
The Valdai Club was established in 2004. Today, it is an internationally recognized venue for interaction between the world’s leading experts and Russian scholars, politicians and government officials. More than 600 world scholars from 48 countries have participated in the Club. The Russian President meets with Valdai experts every year.
The Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai Club was set up in 2010. Its goal is to expand the club’s capabilities for cooperation with political, business and academic circles in Russia and abroad, and to fund new areas of the Club’s activities. Politicians from Russia, China, Germany, Poland and Turkey and executives of major Russian companies are on the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. The Foundation is working on a research grant program, a number of publishing projects and new discussion formats.
